ReOpening: COVID Protocols

WPG Cycle Uncategorized

To our WPG community,

We’re all missing the energy, the motivation and inspiration. But most of all we miss the bike, the beat and YOU! But, before we can open our doors again on MONDAY JULY 6th. We’ve reflected on the ways we can best serve you while ensuring our mutual health and safety.

Providing a welcoming, safe, curated and clean space for your ride has always been part of what we do at WPG. We’ve added to our sanitization protocols and have taken every precaution so that you can feel confident in our space when you come to ride. As we listen and learn from health experts and the hear the concerns of our community, we will continue to adapt our approach. We are ALL IN on making WPG the safest environment possible.

Before You Ride

The studio has been deep cleaned from top to bottom and we’ll continue to keep it that way by using a top-grade disinfectant in all common areas and on all high touch surfaces before and after check in and between every class. Every bike and set of weights in the studio has been thoroughly disinfected and we’ll repeat the process after every ride. The bikes will be spaced out in the studio and we’ll have markers on the floor to allow for proper distancing. All staff and hype crew will use the province of Manitoba self-screening tool prior to their shift and will be wearing gloves and masks.

Before you come, please know that we’ve pressed pause on a few things to limit contact. Please remember to bring your own small towel for inside the spin room as towel service is temporarily suspended, including our refreshing post-class lemongrass ritual. Bring only the essentials with you to class (phone, wallet, keys). Every fifth locker will be available for use and will be marked. Please fill your water bottle at home as our water station will be closed. If you forget, we’ll have a limited amount for sale. Shower facilities will be unavailable for now and complementary amenities things like deodorant, cotton swabs and hair ties that have been deemed high-touch, have been removed from the change rooms but will still be available upon request. Only one stall per restroom will be in use to ensure proper disinfecting standards can be met.

Checking In & Clipping In

Make sure to book your ride, as we won’t be taking any walk-ins for now. Doors will open 15 mins before each class. We’ll be allowing two riders in at a time to check in. Hype crew will stay at the front desk, and one of our crew will always be working to keep high-touch surfaces clean. Our retail collection will still be available in the lobby but will not be able to be tried on or returned. Shoes will be disinfected and rotated so that they’re never worn two rides in a row. Bike selection will be done by a staff member using magnets and a white board, so riders don’t have to make contact.

Learn how to set up your bike on our Instagram page. If needed, a staff member will demonstrate bike set up from the podium. While we love celebrating and sharing our wins, we’re encouraging riders and staff to limit person-to-person contact, including cheers, hugs and high fives. We know this is a lot, but we promise that once that first beat drops you’ll be in the zone and ready to ride!

Rider Responsibility

We’ve all got a role to play in keeping ourselves and our community safe. In addition to respecting the guidelines set out by health experts and governing bodies there are a few things we can all do to help keep each other safe. Please be mindful of physical distancing especially in high traffic areas. If you have a cough, fever, or symptoms of COVID-19, please do not come to the studio until you’ve been symptom and fever-free for 14 days. If you have tested positive for COVID-19, or have knowingly come into close contact with someone who has, we ask that you do not come to the studio for 14 days or until you’ve tested negative for COVID-19. Since space will be limited and we want to try to accommodate everyone who wants to ride, please be courteous and cancel at least 8 hours prior to the start of your class if you’re feeling unwell or can’t make it. If you are on a waitlist, please make sure your text notifications are on so that you can receive updates.

Monitoring & Adapting

Moving forward, we’re continuing to monitor the situation and will adapt our protocols as necessary to keep our community safe. If you have any questions or concern get in touch.
